Just a head's up: this Friday, we're going to meet in section first, then walk over to the Davidson Library together. We have an appointment with Sally Weimer, an academic librarian, in Room 1575. She was kind enough to put together an individualized instructional session for us, so I have a feeling that this is going to be an incredibly useful visit. Fingers are crossed.
For next week's blog, I want you to post your reaction to Dr. Don Lubach's presentation in the IV Theatre this past Tuesday night as well as this visit to the Davidson Library with Sally Weimer.
Some questions for consideration:
- Did you also love Dr. Lubach's presentation? If so, what made it so great? What made it standout? How did he connect with you and bring the material to life? (Chance are, you'll be giving a fair share of presentations throughout college -- it's never too early to take some tips from the vets.)
- What did you take away from the library visit? What do you know NOW about finding sources and/or navigating the library that you hadn't before? Be specific!
- One more special request: in this week's blog post, I'd like you to add a picture. There are no rules or requirements for the picture -- whatever helps to capture your blog post is fair game. The way to add a picture using Blogger is by selecting the photograph-looking icon (next to the movie/director icon) that's right above your blank blog document. I want you to do this for two reasons: (1) to give your blog some aesthetic flair and (2) to build up your tech-savvy chops.
Also, don't forget to blog about your visits to UCSB-sponsored events. You need to attend four in order to receive credit for this course. Each new visit should be its own post. The summer session is rapidly winding down, so please stay on top of this!

What do you want us to do if we already attended our mandatory Fssp events in the beginning of the program?
